eligible doesn't mean effective, well adivised or a net positive force multiplier. Just look at the Jessica Lynch debacle for one glaring example. Its historically stupid to send women into battle or the ballot box.

The US has indeed made MANY boneheaded decisions and choices. That said though, you simply do not withdrawn from the world, nature abhors a vacuum.

Yeah that was sad.
They definitely wouldn't be as effective as 99% of men as infantry where strength or hand to hand combat is needed. But for sniping, recon, logistics or whatever else they'd be just as good.

There is a lot of dar shenanigans going on there between them and the CIA and other entities that is not good. I agree with that.

As much of that should be rooted out and "neutralized"....but it continues to feed on itself, creating many, though not all of the problems we see.

In Islam, there is no 100% guarantee a believer will go to heaven when they die - unless they perform suicide by jihad. The Qu'ran says that Allah guarantees their salvation in that manner. May be one reason to try to wrap our heads around 'why'.

Islam is a religion of works. When someone dies, the Qu'ran teaches a soul will go before Allah in judgement. There will be two angels by each side stating their case for and against (a defendant and a prosecutor, so to speak). Even though one professes belief in Allah (a true believer) - they cannot be certain of their salvation. Allah decides based on their life's activities.

This is in stark contrast to Christianity, whose teaching stresses true faith saves that person. Their salvation is guaranteed. No matter the rotten deeds one may have committed prior to their conversion to faith in Christ - they are going to heaven. Not by anything they have done to earn it, but by what Christ has done. it is a free gift of God.

So, I'm trying to understand 'their worldview'. How a true believer (though a false God, in their mind they believe to be God) could commit suicide and killing innocent victims.

For us, it makes no sense. However, they aren't us...
