ICAM makes an excellent product ,their posts rock and their invoices will take your breath away.
However, when I delt with them (2014/2015) they treated Mastercam like the red headed step child
that was kept hidden away in the basement.
Their post developers didn't have a seat of Mastercam, didn't know the first thing about
Mastercam and acted like Mastercam was not worthy of their time.
You sent them NCI files and they worked with that.
It made trying to develop custom Misc Integer or coolant functions impossible.
I eventually wrote ICAM off as a bad idea and moved on.

Hopefully, now that they are part of the big happy Sandvik family, this has changed.
I wonder if Postabilty (also a Sandick company)  is involved in this???

ICAM is like 20 minutes from where I am,
I haven't heard feedback from anyone (other than G) who used their posts though..

Sandvik bought ICAM in November 2023 and Postability in august 2023, it's possible it was bundled together due to the timeline as Sandvik already had purchased CG-Tech by 2020

I don't think many Mastercam users use ICAM, for the reasons I stated.
Ron ( crazymillman) tried to work with them to be a US dealer/support guy
That is why I bought ICAM.. It didn't work out for him, or my employer.

Well, someone must be buying their posts if they got bought out, maybe not Mastercam users, although they must have some, if they offer Mastercam posts in the first place.

You know, I just looked back through my emails from 2019 when I was having Vericut and ICAM quoted...

A lot of discussion back and forth.  After filling out their machine spec sheet and going over everything with them, I never did even receive a quote from them.

Quote from: __ on November 14, 2023, 09:18 AMsomeone must be buying their posts

their specialty is Catia.
they also offer a post building module.
An old employer bought it and sent me to Orlando Florida for 2 weeks of training.
It was very powerful 20 years ago. I would guess it's even better today.
I went through the training, got back to the office and was thrown straight into a big project
that lasted over a year.
Then that employer started bouncing paychecks and I moved on.
I never actually used all that training I got.
A guy like you, with your mad coding skills could make this software sing

Interesting, thanks G, maybe I will dabble, I had some requests for posts to be packaged in with my chook modules, maybe this would be an easy way to do that
