I've heard the "not ready or can't afford to raise a family", or the "baby isn't going to survive the pregnancy" like in the case of the poor woman in Texas who was going to be forced to carry a nonviable pregnancy to term.

And there is another side to that, the doctor is wrong. One of my wife's coworkers, after numerous tests, was told the baby had serious defects and wouldn't survive after birth. They were told at around 6 months it would be best to abort. They said no. The baby is now over a year old and not a single thing wrong with it.

Abstract

No nation wanting to reduce its growth rate to less than or equal to 1% can expect to do so without the widespread use of abortion. This study, based on the experience of 116 of the world's largest countries, supports the contention that abortion is essential to any national population growth control effort. But there is more that is wrong with what Prince William said: identifying population growth as the problem, logically presents population control as the solution. This automatically transforms wombs into legitimate sites for climate policy. In other words, women's rights to contraception and education are weaponized: they are no longer tools that help women access greater choice, but instead this gender equality goal is hijacked to impose someone else's agenda.
