Is it just me, or is Mastercam Lathe unnecessarily convoluted?

Don't you have to have HOOPS to get graphical toolpath editing?

OpenGL and DX/DXR STILL own the graphics battlespace of CAD/CAM/CAE/CAV. And that absolute domination isn't going anywhere.

can't be too bad, we're running $2 to 3 million a month with our Mastercam lathe powered
VTL's and 5X mill/turns.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "too bad". :D

Compared to TS,  it sucks.

My retort to the "I'm able to get shit done" idea of MC lathe - I can dig a ditch with a spoon, but it would be faster with a shovel.

Too bad she spends in on making her troll face look worse.
When will these people learn that radical cosmetic surgery isn't working?

I've never used anything other than Mastercam lathe so I guess I don't know what I'm missing but once you know the quirks of MC Lathe doesn't seem too bad...  :sofa:

The stuff we make is good.. in fact, if you use natural gas in any way, shape or form, it probably passed
through compressors, diffusers and impellers built and programmed by my lathe programmers with Mastercam Lathe.

I looked at TS years ago and it looked interesting, but the price of post processors for all the machines we have here
strangled that baby in it's crib.

For all of you smart mastercam lathe guys- Is there a way to get a tool, say a face grooving tool that isn't meant to do what you're trying to do with it, to cut on the x- side of the part in the spindle?

I'm mostly just shit talking because the lathe side is so much different than the mill side that it's like you're almost not using the same software.  It's just a pain in the ass to figure out.

I've been able to get it to do most of what I need it to with the exception of my last question.  I'll probably have to create a custom tool and mess around to see if I can get it to work on the X- side of the part.  I wouldn't have to do that if the boss would just buy proper tools for the job.

Everyone knows multiaxis mill guys are the ones who rock the CNC universe.

The rest are just posers and pretenders...
In other words...

Lathe guys.  :harhar:  :harhar:  :harhar:  :harhar:

Lathe guys just make round stuff rounder.
