Am I losing my mind here....wasn't there a way to export your tool library as a csv file?

I seem to remember doing this in the past....

I am trying to export them out so that I can import into a Vericut tool library...

Jeff

File/Convert/Export Folder doesn't do what you need?

No, it doesn't have the option of exporting a tool library

Jeff

It seems the export is gone, even though it still says import/export when you right click inside of your library

That's what I am seeing and the stand alone tool manager doesn't have the option either...

I think that they got rid of the export to text several versions ago. I remember seeing a thread about it on emc.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

This is where I wish vericut had an "export all tools" option in the mastercam interface. Maybe you can email them to add this option?
Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

Safety! is no Accident!

at this point about all you can do is make a garbage Mastercam file,
a one point drill cycle for every tool in the library you want to export.
Then you could use the Mastercam to Vericut interface to import all the tools into
Vericut.
It's unacceptable that there is not an import/export utility for Vericut and Mastercam,
especially since Mastercan and Vericut are kissing cousins now.

Oh believe me, I have considered that....I have 1200 tool library plus 4 holder libraries...not a palatable task..

I did submit a request to Vericut this am for an enhancement to the MCAMV Interface....I don't have high hopes there but we'll see...

I have little hope that Mastercam will even want to do anything, for whatever reason they deprecated the ability and there has been seemingly no traction to bring it back...

I don't know much about it, but my guess is the tools and holders in Mastercam have evolved beyond the
scope of what a cvs file can handle.
I would think that it would be pretty simple for the Master/Vericut interface to just run a stand alone Mastercam library though. All the heavy lifting is already there.

Not sure this is what you want, but you can go into your tool manager, right click, import/export tools, Report. The from the ActiveReports Viewer, you can save that as an Excel format. Then from Excel, you can save it as a .csv file.

I didn't see this option because I'm running Varco Reports
and it uses both Report and Detailed Report to launch.

JParis

I found it...you output the simple report, then once that Active reports window is Open, you do a Save as and choose csv...

I have to reconfigure my Active report to get the info I want out before I can use the csv but it at least gives me a path

Thank you MIL-TFP-41

ctually, no save to a csv, you have to save from Excel to a csv
