The video shows it a little out of sync with the female cop first. She's reacting to the male cop.

Either way, both of them will make you go WTF.....

The first officer TOTALLY overreacts.

The second officer gets a little bit of leeway because she was backing up the other guy.

One basic principle in Small Unit Infantry Tactics is that if a team member is engaging a target with a high volume of fire, there is something there that needs to be engaged with a high volume of fire.

True, the cops aren't the same thing as the military, but many of the principles are the same, and many LEO's do have military training and experience.

Having said that, fortunately in this case they both sucked enough at marksmanship to allow the guy they were mistakenly shooting at to survive the incident unharmed.

When I was in the military, Uncle Sam was picking up the tab.
We practiced...ALOT... :guns:

I was in a National Guard Mech Infantry unit, and my state also had a 'Master Weapons Instructor' school which I graduated from, so we ran lots of rifle, pistol, and machinegun ranges every year during our 2 week Annual Training period.

Most of the time we would draw enough ammo for 4 line companies and our battalion HQ company to qualify on a particular weapon system.
So for example, if it was a .50 cal range, every assigned .50 cal gunner in the battalion was supposed to cycle through the instruction and live fire to earn or keep their qualification status.

Needless to say that among the support personnel like cooks, medics, mechanics, and truck drivers, we always had alot of 'no-shows' and ALOT of ammo left over at the end of the day.  (Most were probably 'pencil qualified' by their unit admins, but that's another story...)

The Ammo / EOD guys ALWAYS told us when they dropped off ammo at the range in the morning that they didn't want ANY live rounds returned at the end of the day because that created more paperwork for them than if we just turned in residue, like empty brass, links, etc...

So being the good little grunts we were, we gladly expended every last round once we were sure everyone who wanted to qualify had their turn.

That meant lots and LOTS of extra pew-pew-pew to be had by the range staff at the end of every day on the rifle, pistol, or machinegun ranges!!  8)  :guns:

There is a road in my hood that is lined on both sides by black walnut trees that almost form a tunnel.

Best to avoid it in late summer on a windy day unless you want your car to look like it went through a hail storm.
