I flew from Hawaii to salt lake that same night. The flight was normally 7 hours. Only took 5 hours. Don't know the speed because the plane (767-300) didn't show the planes stats or position.

I heard the pilot announce the speed one time because an elderly gentlemen asked the flight attendant about it. (No it wasn't me!) We were doing something over 600mph because of a tail wind.

I've flown Minneapolis to Ft Myers, 5 round trips in the last 5 months. I have two more trips coming up. I am always grateful for a good tailwind. That 3.25 hr flight is just long enough to be annoying.

My flight back from the Philippines got to nearly 780 due to a strong tail wind. The return flight was 13 hours. The flight to Manila was 15 hours.

Airspeed limit I would venture a guess around .6 mach. Groundspeed... unlimited-ish.
