NYC is implementing a $15 tax for driving in certain areas to ease traffic.

California fast food workers now to make $20 per hour for big chains.

That's fine for them but please keep your liberal ideas in your own states and not infest conservative states.

Unless you are a Panera Bread multi-franchise owner who happens to be a friend of the Governor...

...then you get an 'exemption'.

Oh btw when Gruesome was called out on this, his response was "that's absurd."

He's right.
It is absurd that he thinks everyone is stupid enough to believe that he didn't push to give his billionaire buddy and huge supporter an 'exemption' that will probably save him millions of dollars.

The exemption for "Chains that bake bread and sell it as a standalone item" is the only absurdity here.

They used to try to hide the corruption.
Now they can do it in the open, and then just claim "that's absurd" when they get called on it.

This how broken our political system has become.  :wallbash:

The guy came out and said that he would be paying his employees the $20 per hour regardless of the exemption for bakeries or what ever the exemption is. Something tells me he wont have a choice. Who's going to work for Panera when they can make more working for Taco Time. The difference is something like $2 per hour isn't it?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

That may be true, but the fact that such a ridiculous exemption was given in the first place is the issue.
This is blatant cronyism that blew up in their faces and will just be swept under the rug.

Let's remember that next time a prominent Republican governor gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

It's broken beyond repair. When a government uses all means to suppress a candidate and half of people celebrate it, it's over!

I think I've seen enough cronyism and nepotism in politics in the last decade or two that I've become numb to it.
