I don't like something that is being forced.
Every time they break to one of his shots, they fall all over each other trying to come up with the best compliment about world number one scottie scheffler.
Did you know that world number one scottie scheffler is such a great family man?
World number one scottie scheffler is the best father.
World number one scottie scheffler is so humble, and has such deep faith in god.
World number one scottie scheffler makes everyone a better person just by being in the same room with them.

It's a bit much.

Unfortunately the golf talking heads have alot of air time to fill, so that's what they do.
Yeah it does get to be a bit much, but I don't blame Scottie himself.

He actually is a pretty humble guy, and he definitely worked his ass off to get to #1. 

Like you said, Tiger was the face of the game when he was in his prime, but he is now riding off into the sunset, so the industry needs a new hero, and for now that is going to be Scottie.

Don't forget also that the PGA broadcasters will add extra accolades for any NON-LIV player.
That has been an ongoing thing, and definitely part of the reason they are falling all over themselves.

If Scheffler jumped over to the LIV tomorrow, the PGA toadies wouldn't give him the time of day.

Good question, how in TF were you able to stand watching Tiger.  It was and is 100% the Tiger show even if he was +7 for the tournament.

That's completely different. He changed the game.
He was doing things that no other golfer ever thought about doing in a tournament, and he won. He won damn near every time he stepped on the course.
Just listen to old broadcasts immediately before and after Tiger started on the tour. The crowd noise difference is night and day.
18 majors (including 3 as an amateur) and 82 PGA Tour wins tied for #1 all time in wins.
and a whopping 142 consecutive events without missing the cut.

I'm a Tiger fan!  I've never played golf, but I have competed in an individual sport that is mostly mental at the higher level.  I shoot in archery tournaments. (Also, a mostly mental sport)

A little story here:  A few years ago, I competed in a 2-day money shoot.  The first day you shot for placement.  This allowed the best shooters to keep each other HONEST the next day by having the best scorers shooting together.

The next day I found myself shooting in the top group with four other guys.  After about ten targets we had one guy that had MISSED THE ENTIRE TARGET TWICE, and scored really low on the others.  When we ask him what's up, he said the day before when he got home HIS WIFE ASK HIM FOR A DIVORCE!  He went home after that without finishing.

I guess what I'm getting at is his ability to block out all the other stuff, and still WIN!!

So, with that said,,,,Is Why I'm a Tiger Fan.

His ability to stay focused is unmatched in my opinion. His dad taught him that.

I did quite a bit of competitive rifle and pistol shooting in my younger days, and that too is about 95% mental and only 5% physical.

Yes, Tiger Woods was and is one of the most mentally focused people I have ever seen in ANY sport. 

His dad was a career military man who knew the value of self-discipline, and how to perform under pressure.
Young Tiger learned those lessons well when he was a kid, and as a result he became the fiercest competitor in the history of the game of golf.

A few other athletes I can think of had that kind of laser focus, Jack Nicklaus being one.

Outside of golf I think athletes like Michael Jordan and Serena Williams also had that unique ability to give 100% mental focus on every single play / shot / point in their respective sports, which also made them elite, dominant players.
