You'd have to be with all of this mess with Boeing/Spirit going on.

The reason I ask is that we are looking for a programmer for our Robotic AFP machine. As I understand it, this programmer would be for a specific military program, not multiple programs like my coworkers and me.

We were also asked in the last crew meeting if anyone was interested in management. A good laugh was had by all.

They are starting to build some pretty sophisticated robotic harvesting machines.
Not all crops are a good pick for robotic harvesting though.

Found it. This machine is sick

Todd Rudberg may be the smartest man I ever met. He knows it too.

The machine I program is sort of like the one in the video; it's a gantry with X,Y,Z,A,B,C,and C prime. I can't find a picture of the one I program.

This is what the robot afp looks like (not the same one) and I am surprised to see that large part on rotators on youtube.

Am I allowed to ask where you work? Is this AFP stuff the main thing you guys do? This is a whole branch of manufacturing I had no idea existed.

I work for Spirit Aerospace. Our claim to fame is building the737 fuselage but we also build the forward section of the 787 which is how we got into carbon fiber. We bought the machine I program around 2009. It's strictly used for R&D. We added a robot later. Most of the stuff my group does is defence related

Does this job happen to be located in northern Minnesota or eastern South Dakota?

Eastern SD is Chemring.

Specific.

I have not heard of aeronautics in that area.

Ballistic and Energetic. Yes. But Not Aeronautic. :D

Oh, much better!
South Central Kansas.
We have everything you could want, except trees and mountains. And beaches.
Fry an egg on the sidewalk summers and freeze your nads in 30 seconds Winters.

A place where your car is dirtier after a light rain because of all the dust the wind blows up plus smoke from the wildfires, range burning and burning the wheat fields after the harvest.
What more could you ask for?

Oh! And we have earthquakes, hail storms and tornadoes for fun.
