Even if... and that's a MASSIVE "IF"... he knew about that which he spoke... Read the room.

Albert Einstein wasn't chatting up the theory of relativity outside the classroom. Combine everyone within earshot of Terence and you STILL don't have Einstein's IQ. Hell... combine all those people and you're probably struggling HARD to get to 3 digits.

True science is the opposite of "settled". It is constantly being refined.

After Mt. St. Helen's erupted and the landscape was surveyed, things that once were through to have taken 10's or 100's of 1,000's of years to ocurr happened in a matter of hours or days.

If your science is settled, it's not science, it's propaganda.

An addendum:

This whole NX->Catia has just illustrated what a fustercluck this project is. My co-programmer and I have spent a lot of time working this issue and some tooling issues also. All of this without a charge line, despite repeated attempts to get one. And we have been hammered about correct clocking. So it sort of came to a head today. We had done some testing and needed to do more, and I reported that in an email to about 15 different people. In response, they talked about getting the other data we need and yada, yada. No mention of a charge. So, I reminded them not to forget a charge line. This set off a big back and forth about who was going to pay for programming. We, however, don't belong to any of those different groups. And there didn't seem to be any consideration given to situation. I'm sure everyone is familiar with this situation. The engineers get excited about running something on the machine and forget they need someone to program the damn thing.

So after enough of this to piss me off, I finally said "We have done all of this work with no charge line. We will hold off on doing any more AFP work until we figure out who pays for it".

So, we have a solution. A shitty solution, but a solution. This whole project seems to have been a bunch of people in little groups with no one in charge. Makes me kind of glad I don't know what we're building.

I didn't want to pull the "do this or we won't do that" but they were just going in a circle.
I may have pissed off my boss.

The SR-71 was killed for many idiotic reasons, one good reason was nobody else wanted to pay their fair share. So the Air Force was paying the freight on $200k/hr. operation costs.
