Cali can't even run a money printing machine

I quit smoking pot in the 80's so I've got no skin in the game.
Based on my experiences as a zombie in my youth, I voted against legalization
every time it was on the ballot... but it's legal now.... even as the black market
and the Mexican cartels  run roughshod over Cali's legal market
Meanwhile, Cali has slaughtered the cash cow it was trying to milk.

Here in Michigan they're popping up all over the place.
In my small town of 3500 people there are 7 or 8 with 4 of them within 1/4 mile of my work.
But after spending millions to renovate or build a building, they don't seem to be lasting more than a year with the exception of a couple of places.
I can take it or leave it, doesn't bother me much. Besides, whenever I want the occasional edible I can easily get some.

The article I linked to states that Michigan has passed Cali in legal pot sales.
It is now #1 in legal post sales in the US

They are all over Nevada and Montana.

No skin in the game for me either.

Haven't burned the footage since March 20-something (?) 1987.

And legally speaking I cannot. The whole lying on a Federal Form thingy... prison isn't a good look on me.

Stuff is about the only thing to help with my wife's cancer symptoms without other massive side effects from the pharmacology/ petro-chemical industry products produce.
Going the legal dispensary route is breathtakingly expensive.

I can't imagine that it will be too much longer before it's legal Federally?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

There is dispensary about a mile from my house
It is surrounded by a chain link fence topped with barbed wire.
When it's open, there is an armed guard at the door.

One of the stupidest things about legal pot is it's still a Federal crime... so
legal pot vendors cannot use the banks.
That means there are large quantities of cash laying around which leads to regular
violent and frequently fatal robberies.

The black market farming is violent was well.
It ranges from aging hippies growing a little bud in the back yard to full
blown industrial farming enterprises.
Most of the big farms are controlled by the Mexican cartels, but they are getting stiff
competition from Chinese gangs, who import slave labor from Asia.
A couple of years ago a local farm was raided, leaving a body count of nearly a dozen,
all of them slaves from Cambodia.

California REALLY shit itself I know, I know, I knkw.... completely and TOTALLY shocking they are regulating something into oblivion.

The requirements that a distribution channel be in place is absurd. If you can have farm to table food, why not farm to bong? Oh, that's right, because idiot Democrats run that shithole of a state and viable economic policy is NOT their strong suit.

In my neighborhood they are only outnumbered by BWL buildings and orange traffic cones.

Being serious, the best place to smoke and drink is at home and stay put.

It's happening in Colorado too. I was reading about it a couple of days ago. Some surrounding states have legalized it; technically legal (according to some) hemp derived products like delta 8 have hurt it also. Delta 8 can be found where marijuana is not lagal, so no need for cross border trips.

I would post a link but I don't want to have "pot in Colorado" in my search history.
