No, apparently you don't? I can't tell at this point if you're just trolling or what. And that's fine, I'm used to it. :D

If you have a good argument (not whataboutisms) that explains why this should be ok, or that Trump wasn't at all responsible, or that he shouldn't even be tried for it even if he was responsible, or that it's going to be fair for anyone else to do the same moving forward regardless of party, I'm all ears.

To me, all of the horse crap they've gone after Trump for, and believe it or not, I do disagree with some of it, this has been the most egregious. Something tells me Trumps cohorts aren't going to get away from it so easily unless we see a bunch of pardons handed out if Trump gets elected?  Poor Poor Giuliani.  lol.

Hello Pot?

The funny thing about us fence sitters; if you can present a good enough argument without 2 pages of sarcastic comments, or resorting to whataboutisms as arguments, you might be able to change our mind.

Quote from: gcode on July 02, 2024, 05:34 PMMy Favorite President Trump Story

As told by Congressman Wesley Hunt
Listened to a couple of non-connected Podcasts and they said essentially the same thing but differently; In a sentence, nobody believed in earnest that we would actually follow through with the withdrawal. Hence all the hardware left behind. To say it was hurried is the understatement of the decade.

I don't know if it was true or not, but it certainly seems plausible at the very least given the kind of hardware left behind. Had you or I handed that over to Export Restricted Nations we would spend the rest of our natural born lives in prison. Not to mention, that incontinent, dementia addled octogenarian failure of a leader pushed the withdrawal back from Trump's original timeline. No excuse for that. No excuse whatsoever. And the fact not one single flag officer was fired for that abortion of an operation.

Somebody should have faced a firing squad for that sort of failure and the fact that US soldiers died contrary to Depends In-Chief statement during the debate to the contrary...

I think it's a good move, otherwise u end up with countries where as soon as the new guy takes power he imprisons the last president. It turns bad quick, just look at the state of things outside of our little sunflower patch.

Ok shifting gears.

Day #1 "Impeach 45"

2 or 3 attempted Impeachments.

The Jan 6th committee.

The Jan. 6th Hearings.

NY civil charges

Ny Criminal charges

Georgia Criminal charges

Alvin Bragg , Fani Willis "I'm gonna get Trump"

Engoron , Merchan.

Stormy Daniels , Micheal Cohen.

A conviction at any cost.

As far as I know electors filings have all been thrown out.

I'm sure I have missed a few.

And you ask.

"Should The President have Immunity?"

I just don't know how else to explain it. :wallbash:

Not to mention the CONSTANT misinformation spreading lies about Trump said this, Trump said that, when it's 1000% not true.
For example:
Trump tells people to drink bleach for the Chinavirus.
Take horse de-wormer, fish tank cleaner
Bloodbath
Dictator

And just recently Kameltoe "heels up" Harris on Twitter said that "Trump will ban abortion nationwide" and the Pedo and her will "do everything in our power to stop him and restore women's reproductive freedom"

But our dear old friend Elon Musk had something to say about that tweet lol

"When will politicians, or at least the intern who runs their account, learn that lying on this platform doesn't work anymore?"

I'm not asking anything on this one. I'm saying that he shouldn't have Immunity.  Not in this case. It's the ONE thing, in my opinion, that if he were to be found guilty of he should go to prison for. And he shouldn't be able to hide behind some b/s "it was an official act" argument.

I don't see how you could possibly think that anyone, regardless of who they are, that made an attempt to secure fake electors to over turn an election should get a free pass. Our goal should be to have fair elections. Not encourage one side to cheat because we think the other is. If that is what we think then Democracy in this Country is as dead as they say it is.

Yea, I know, Trump was being picked on so he should just get away with it.

That happen in 2016 with attempts to unwind Trump's victory.
No one blinked an eye.. and no DA even considered filing charges.

If that's true, then they should have. I don't remember hearing anything about securing false electors in 2016.

After looking it up, it wasn't the same thing and looks like the effort actually back fired and worked to Trumps benefit.

They didn't try to secure fake electors. There was an attempt to convince electors to change their vote based on the "popular vote" "faithless electors" pointing out that Hillary did actually win the popular vote and that Trump was unfit for office?

Someone must have blinked an eye because, at least in Washington State (go figure  ), those involved were penalized according to Washington State law. Seems like a meager fine?

I do remember a bunch of protesters in Washington State going around with signs that read "vote your conscience".  I didn't pay much attention to it because this State wouldn't have voted for Trump anyway.

From what I'm reading, "faithless electors" are only illegal in some States? Seems unethical, even if it is legal in a particular State. Maybe the laws need to be more strict on this from State to State since only 15 seem to have laws to impose sanctions on electors for breaking their pledge to cast their vote for their party's nominee?

So the difference I see between the two, one was an attempt to secretly defraud the US election by the current administration, while the other was done publicly and not by the person(s) running for office? I don't think that either should be legal.

the difference between "false electors" and "faithless electors" is semantics.

the "false electors were villians because they were trying to help Trump
the "faithless electors" were heros because they were trying to save humanity from the evil Trump monster.

Faithless Trump electors would still be talking to grand juries, faithless Biden electors still get a free pass.
