Not so much rules as what I call bits of wisdom.
My dad was one of my favorite people, and he had a very dry sense of humor.

One I will never forget is the day I got my drivers' license.
I had 3 sisters, one older, two younger, but I was the first to get my license.
I remember showing off my new license to my sisters like I had just won the lottery.

We were standing in our living room, and my dad motioned for me to where he was standing by the window that looked out over our driveway.
He asked me to look out the window, and tell him what I see there.
"A car." , I said, not sure where this conversation was going.
"No...", he said, "That's not "A" car...that's "MY" car!"
"You want one of your own, there's plenty of room out there to park another one!"  :w00t:
I never forgot that, and in fact, I did the same thing with my son when he got his license!

btw...That's the same window my dad would look out and say:
(In the summer) "That grass ain't gonna mow itself..."
(In the winter) "That snow ain't gonna shovel itself..."

He passed away almost a year ago, and I still miss him.

Wish I could talk my eldest into getting a license.  No interest.  But I have cutters and materials that need picking up!
