IMO, that is why you have never seen a political candidate get hammered from all sides like Trump. He does not owe them anything and they don't think they can control him for their benefit. Our constitution says we are a democratic republic, but in truth we are ruled by corporatocracy. The whole R vs D is just the two camps of middle managers (politicians) fighting for their power and piece of the pie. The real power behind them is their corporate overlords, aka the Blackrocks of this world.

I've been saying this since the late eighties, at least. What baffles me are the Republicans, and Trumpsters in particular, who are chiming this bell when it is mostly their policies that are contributing to, and strengthening, said corporatocracy.
