Imagine you're in downtown Ramadi Iraq.... 2006. The most dangerous city in the world that year. You're in an Army platoon and you have scout snipers in a position giving your unit over-watch. Army is in charge of the AO.

A Marine unit comes into your AO. The op was cleared by the Army and Marine ground force commanders. The operation details were not forwarded to to the Army's over-watch commander.... IOW, boots on the ground have no idea this Marine unit is in their battle space. Snipers see movement, and begin shooting....

I hope you can see where I'm going with this.... if you can't, do some research on "Blue on Blue" situations. This happens WAY more often than it should.

Likely scenario; SS was trying to avoid a Blue On Blue situation because they've already fucked the pooch HARD and repeatedly on not working out the necessary  details weeks in advance and at this moment they know it. So, they are in panic mode trying to not make a bad situation worse... so, in those minutes/seconds of delay they are trying to determine who's guy this is/is not and who is being shot at.

Bottom line, tactically and strategically this situation was a shit show from the start. They knew it the minute the first shot rang out.

That's my take. Whomever planned this OP.... if they don't 100% own EVERY aspect of that that tragic fuck up, they should be terminated. Stripped of all retirement benefits and be barred from working in or around law enforcement IN ANY capacity for the rest of their natural born lives. Go be a dog catcher shitbird!

If they can own it, they need a hefty demotion because it.... it.... it.... is SO fucking basic. You get EVERY person in the op on the same fucking page. Every body knows who, what, where, and how.
