I think they were wanting to know specifics which she kept deferring to an investigation taking up to 60 days. She should be able to answer questions she knew were coming. Acccording to her the shooter wasn't deemed a threat until he fired the first shot even though they knew he was on the roof with a gun.

Yeah she said he was considered suspicious and then couldn't answer if he was approached . She wouldn't even answer timelines events prior to shooting and kept referring to FBI investigation. One thing I think she united both Dems and republicans with frustration.

If it is true they knew there was a guy was on a roof in the prone position with a gun (or even if there was just a guy on the roof at all) and they didn't view him as enough of a threat to delay Trump going on stage until they put boots on that dangerously sloped roof to verify he was not a threat it would certainly invite many questions that would be extraordinary difficult to explain.

So was it a series of inexplicable fuck ups or a conspiracy?

Many are claiming "Cheatle doesn't have any 'Law Enforcement' experience. That is simply not true. She began work in the Secret Service in 1995-ish and served there until 2018 give or take a couple years. That's a LOT of time. Was it quality time? We'd have to see the personnel records.

Look, her ACTUAL failures continue to mount as more details on her management of the Secret Service come to light. There is no need to state untrue things in order to DQ her from serving as Director.
1) Her management IS complete and total shit based on the number of high profile failures that have surfaced during her tenure not even including the attempt on Trump''s life.
2) Her testimony in front of the congressional committee shows us she's not fit to hold the office of Director.
3) The ONLY reason she attained that position is because
a. she is a she (i.e she checks boxes)
b. Jilly and her were BFF's during the Obama Adminstration
