A bit of a tangent, but we're gonna try to make it to IMTS, and it would be fun to meet anybody from this group if our schedules align. I've enjoyed reading stuff here even though I don't use MasterCam-it's just fascinating to me to hear about what sorts of things people make, what machines they're using, industries served, etc.

I have a friend who live in Chicago so he makes a great tour guide.

I grew up there (burbs, and HS years in the city proper), and yeah-it's really a great place. Every now and then we fantasize about moving but haven't acted on the impulse. I *do* kinda wonder if we could hack the winters-Maureen has never lived in the snow (more like grey sludge once a few days have passed). Not to mention the fact that I'm not sure if the business would survive, either!

No worries! I've gotten the sense that there's lots of long/deep personal history among the regulars here, so it makes sense in that context....lots of good-natured ribbing.

...and I'm not certain, but I *think* I first heard about this forum (and the IHS forum as well) from Matt H, either on Practical Machinist or via email....not sure. I seem to recall we had some offline banter about TS a few years back; he's using MC if I recall correctly, making orthopedic parts I think.

Yea, I know that I didn't invite you here.  Your first couple of posts I didn't make the connection.  It wasn't until we started discussing the TS support thing that I realized what was up. lol. I honestly didn't think that any of you guys would stick around after that.

I'll be there Tuesdsy afternoon through Friday Afternoon. 

Staying at the Hyatt on Wacker. I'll be in the Matsuura Booth Tusdsy afternoon and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday I've got some research to do so I'll be walking the show.

Yeah, somehow I was having a "bad technology day"....LOL. I don't remember if I had the speaker turned down/muted, or was just being obtuse!

And yeah, it's great to see what folks are listening to (or what they're chattering about politically, though I try to stay outta the fray)! It's way more fun to think of what we've got in common-arguing on the internet is way overrated in my opinion!
