Of all the drugs I did in my youth (lots of acid), I never felt out control. With my friends I usually was the "conscience" of the group. Hey guys, maybe we shouldn't be driving 100 miles an hour on a curvy back road. There are definitely types that should never touch anything mind altering.

Seeing the original Star Wars while tripping was, well, a trip. It was the first time hearing the big sound that is common now days instead of a tinny little speaker.

Tied for Star Wars for most fun and clear winner for stupidest thing I did was ride my motorcycle.

The weirdest was with mushrooms and driving down the highway in the rain and the reflection of the lights on rain covered highway. I kind of got lost. That's not surprising. I tend to get lost now and I haven't done any of that stuff in 40 or 50 years.

I'm not especially following the Olympics, but I did read about Scheffler coming back from being 4 shots behind in the final round.  Considering the talent level at the Olympics, that's a pretty impressive comeback. (I know Jeff hates the guy, but he is showing why he is World #1.)

On a sadder note, I have also read that some of the distance swimmers across the board are complaining about the disgusting river water they are being forced to swim in, with one competitor even falling ill after a race. 

That's pitiful, and the Paris officials should be ashamed of themselves.

Out of curiosity, has anyone followed up on this.   It sounds as though this person was born a female and has always been a female. No proof that there were ever any xy chromosomes (Russians started the rumor and yet never provided proof).

It would be sad if this person was crucified over a manufactured story?

In 2023, IBA president Umar Kremlev said that the disqualifications were because DNA tests "proved they had XY chromosomes".[36][8] The Washington Post stated, "It remains unclear what standards Khelif and Lin Yu Ting failed [in 2023] to lead to the disqualifications",[8][36] further writing, "There never has been evidence that [...] Khelif [...] had XY chromosomes or elevated levels of testosterone."[8] The IBA did not reveal the testing methodology, stating the "specifics remain confidential".[37] At the time, Khelif said the ruling meant having "characteristics that mean I can't box with women", but said she was the victim of a "big conspiracy" regarding the disqualification.[38] She initially appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport but later withdrew.[16]

Another thing that I thought was interesting. Her boxing record was awful up until the last few years.

At the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships, Khelif finished 17th in the women's lightweight event after being eliminated in the first round by Karina Ibragimova.[17] At the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships, she finished 33rd in the women's lightweight event after being eliminated in the first round by Natalia Shadrina.[15][18]

Apparently her 'inappropriate conduct' was simply being smokin' hawt and not hiding it. 

She didn't make the cut in her event anyway, so she decided to do some sight-seeing before returning to the US to finish school.

I would guess the margin of victory for the 92 team would be reduced from 40-60 points to like 15-30 against today's competition.
