Quote from: YoDoug on August 15, 2024, 11:23 AMI just got a quote today and it is a 35% price increase from 2020, during Covid. I am starting to feel like companies are just in a free for all of "we'll blame our huge price increases on inflation".

Are you seeing the same for your shop/machinery supplies and tooling?

I do the majority of purchasing for perishables here (endmills, drills, inserts, yadda yadda) and have noted that some distributors are taking advantage and bending you over without using lube. Fortunately distributors are a dime a fucking dozen and my only loyalty is price. Most of these places have no added value other than getting you a quote on a part number you provide. Schunk? You will likely get you best price from MSC. Kennametal? MSC will bend you over, go to Productivity. Iscar would be yet a different distributor.

There are a few brands we are fortunate enough to buy direct (we are a distributor) and there has been price increases, but I assure you, not 35%.

On top of that, all the big Tooling Companies are being hacked left and right.
The rumor is 75 million ransomware for Guhring?
Haven't heard any numbers for the Berkshire/Hathaway Hack.
Who's next?

We all pay for it.
