I hear ya. It rippled out into all kinds of things. When my daughter had her third child, her husband wasn't allowed to be in the hospital with her because of covid protocols. He didn't get to hold his own son until the hospital released her and the baby.

some other friends of mine were having a baby that they knew would not live more than a few hours when it was born. In that case they allowed the both the mother and father to be their with the baby when it was born but no other family members.
