USC's record against The Big 10 is MORE than respectable;
11-2 vs Illinois
4-0 vs Indiana
7-3 vs. Iowa
6-4 vs. Michigan
4-4 vs Michigan State
6-1-1 vs Minnesota
4-0-1 vs Nebraska
5-0 vs. Northwestern
13-10-1 vs Ohio State
6-4 vs Penn State
6-1 vs. Wisconsin

72 -29-3 overall record. Near double the next closest competitor in Rose Bowl wins. 

I would say at the very least that deserves to be shome modicum of respect. We're the new kids I get it. It's not like we don't come in with some SERIOUS bonfires though. 

We've had a few down years, though not near as bad as the 90's. That was a ROUGH time to be a Trojan Fan.

Now I'm in BYU Cougar and Utah Utes Territory. Gotta find the USC bar to go hang out at. We Trojans are EVERYWHERE!

Basically USC is out of it's league now and finally they'll get their come uppance since they are in a "real conference" now.

Something USC is bringing to the table that really isn't germane to football;
Total USC Olympic Medals – 326 (153 gold*, including at least one gold in every summer Olympics from 1912, 98 silver, and 75 bronze). I'm fairly certain that is more medals then any other University. We come to the Big 10 with truckloads of hardware. Obviously we're new in town and need to prove our worth to the conference which is entirely fair. That said, I think a modicum of respect for the entire program is warranted.

I did see a hilarious version of the fight scene in Anchorman with the merging teams. There's a funny jab at Penn State  also.

Yeah... SC opening up with LSU...   I think your schedule (opponents 2023 record 98-59) and our schedule (opponents 2023 record 106-53) is about equally as brutal. No easy day.

the travel we'll be doing... no joke.
We're ranked #23... ATM, I think somewhere between 20 and 25 was reasonable. We'll see how we look playing LSU.

I gotta give props to a Special Ed Conference team actually playing a team outside it's own timezone, a team that's not Little Sisters of the Poor, or worse, some D1AA team that's just in it for the money.

In my book, USC is ALWAYS a threat, so those pundits who are dissing them now are wrong as usual.
(Interesting that Sparty is the only Big 10 team w/ a .500 record against USC, albeit only 8 games total.  )

Yeah, expanding the conference does create travel issues for both East and West coast teams, but I think the added level of competition is worth it. 

Real NCAAF fans want to see the best teams go at it week-to-week, so adding USC to the B1G mix takes the level of competition up a notch for sure.

Looking at the schexule... almost every week looks like a bowl game. 

I'm excited because finally we'll get our athletes the exposure they deserve. Between the shifty PAC-12 Network and late west coast games, people on the East Coast were already in bed by game time.

Yeah east coast vs. west coast games in all sports are a pain.
They are often too early in the west and too late in the east.

Thankfully we on the east coast can DVR games so we don't have to worry about staying up too late on a work night, and west coasters can start watching from the beginning later after work and after dinner.

I'm a Pittsburgh Penguins fan and their schedule always includes 2 US west coast / western Canada swings every season. I used to try to stay up for those games but when they were in Edmonton or LA the games would usually start at 10 PM and end at 1AM, but now I just DVR the game and watch it the next day.

The hardest part is NOT looking at the scores on my phone or computer for a whole day when I have a recorded game to watch!!
