Going to be on a beach in Florida that week...  It'll be the first one I've missed in a long time.

whirlwind tour of the place for me. Will be there maybe a day & a half. No way can I see everything in that time, but I will be able to get in what I need to.

I am supposed to be going back FL the week after IMTS. I'm hoping to stay an extra day and head to the coast side to get in a few hours of surfing.

Dang! I thought we were gonna make it, but no go this time....I was looking forward to meeting some of you folks there! We might make it back to the Midwest sometime closer to the holidays for my dad's B'Day.

I'd almost go just to meet you in person.  lol.

There were times that I thought about going on my own without being sent by the company, but the hotel prices during IMTS are ridiculous.  Go two weeks later and they're a fraction of the price.

I keep wanting to take the G/f there just because the architecture is amazing and the history...
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

My IMTS days are over now. But I'd love to go back for a long weekend, when there is no convention going on, to see the cool stuff I'd see through the shuttle windows. The Field museum of natural history, the aquarium, their zoo, and I'm sure they have lots of other cool museums.

The mixture of old and new architecture there is very cool.

One of the times I went I spent an entire day walking around just looking at the architecture. I wondered in to a few pubs and got to hear stories about the old mobster days.

I love it there.

I have a friend who lives north of Wrigley Field.  We spent a bunch of time with him doing a roof top bar tour and then went to a game at Wrigley the next day.  I don't think I've ever been that hungover in my life.

It was a blast.  We won at giant jenga at 3 different bars.   :D

No worries! Yeah, it would be fun to meet you too....my wife & I might have to make it up to Seattle again sometime (last time was about 7 years ago for her nephew's wedding, and her sister was living up there at the time, too). I'll buy you a beer! But you gotta give me a shop tour, OK? I love seeing anything related to machining.

Chicago is a fun city-glad to have spent some time there in HS. I know folks like to bag on the Midwest, but you could do alot worse than being stuck in Chicago. Every now and then we fantasize about moving back there, but I'm not sure I could hack the winters!
