Had a chance to go see The Coug at a little venue on the MSU campus earlier this year. Kinda bummed I didn't go. I'm not a huge fan of his music, but he's had a hell of a career and his songs are all over the radio. Might have been fun to see a real life, washed up rock star in these parts.

Yeah he's another in a long line of musicians that need to spew their political bullshit on stage when people paid hard earned money to hear them play.

Like Rage Against the Machine... their entire existence in the 90's/2000's was based off fighting the evil gov't and capitalism.
Then when they decided to get together for a reunion tour, the price of the tickets were INSANE! Proving they are and always have been posers.

He is, the hype isn't comparable to the talent.
He's a very good guitar player but he's not worthy of any Top 100. (such as Rolling Stone's Top 100 guitar players of all time). And we know that Rolling Stone is a complete joke. Especially having SRV at #20 and Morello at #18, Clapton at #35.
Joan Jett at #76 while Derek Trucks is at #80!  Derek is a master of the slide.

Yeah the Whammy II pedal back in the day I think it was.
I can't deny that their debut album was awesome and I listened to it quit a bit back in 1993-ish.
It was mainly their lead singer that was outspoken and had to spew his politics on stage, while Morello had a sign on the back of his guitar for political reasons that he would flash once in a while.
The music was solid, great beats and rhythms, didn't really listen to the lyrics.
