Our Third MAM 72-35v just hit the floor.  Probably about a week until it comes online.  When i first worked here about 20 years ago, it was all Haas in the mill departments.  Only two haas left now.  the Hplus 300 and 405 along with the CUBElex really gobble up the work.  Kind of double edge sword because adding the automation has reduced workforce by over 50% during those 20 years.

We are an all Okuma shop so bringing in anything else would be a challenge, but if I were to consider something else,  Matsuura would be top of the list.

Automation isn't only about reducing headcount. We have two separate divisions. Both have about the same head count but one is highly automated and the other is shop labor heavy. The highly automated division has more marketing, design and other non shop positions that help consistently grow sales. That division does 3x sales over the other with less than half the shop employees and a third less machines.

"In all my years here and on the old forum I have heard, and likely said, some pretty unhinged stuff. But congrats, you're the new leader in clubhouse."  - ghuns, 6/06/2025

there is an aptitude test required before your application will be considered.

You must put a .100 ± .015 radius on The Crack of Dawn.

So far we have only had one successful candidate. A guy named oneyankeefan.
He was not hired though as he called the HR lady a Nazi and punched her in the face.

When I first started at my shop we were all Haas besides a few old robodrills, a bridgeport, and a johnsford lol. (johnsford was my first machine)

Latest two machines are Matsuuras and the boss said he'll never purchase another Haas again :)

We got a MAM72-52v and MX-330 PC10.
Really wish it would have just been a 35v though  ;D
congrats OP
