That means literally anyone can vote in Cali.
The main purpose of letting a bunch of illegals into the country by the millions.
Fortunately Killary's plan didn't succeed. (give them all immediate citizenship).

Other than in very few limited cases, they didn't require a voter id before, did they?  So what's new?

Washington State is the same.  The only time you're asked for an ID, are some first time voters under certain circumstances (don't know what those are), or if your signature doesn't match. Then they'll ask for an ID or make you sign a ballot declaration. Most just vote by mail, but if your signature doesn't match your mailed in ballot your vote wont count.

How many States have strict photo id requirements to vote?

It looks like the law Gavin signed is to prevent different cities or districts from passing their own voter ID laws that they want to take precedence over state law.

Jeff

The Huntington Beach City Council placed the voter ID measure on the March ballot after taking a series of hotly contested decisions on topics ranging from flag flying to the removal of books from the public library's children's section over concerns about the appropriateness of materials. The moves were initiated by a politically conservative council majority, which took office in 2022, and have drawn scores of residents on all sides of issues to city meetings.

Huntington City Attorney Michael Gates said in March that the passage of the amendment approved by voters was "not only permissible" but backed by the state constitution.

Last week he vowed to continue to enforce Measure A.

"That bill means nothing to the city of Huntington Beach," Michael Gates said, per OrangeCountyLawyers.com. "The city is going to proceed with its voter ID laws because it has a constitutional right to do so."

I don't know much about Cali voter laws, but don't they have mail in voting in Cali? So what would this all mean? That you would have to show ID to register in Huntington Beach?

It's kind of adorable that you actually believe that... :harhar:

I have been a Judge of Election in PA for more than 20 years.
We used to have our absentee ballots sent to each individual district on election day, where the election board for that district could actually see, touch, and count them after the polls closed.
WE did the signature verification on the ballot envelopes just as if the person were signing the poll book in person.

When COVID came along our county decided to no longer have the individual districts handle the mail-in ballots, but instead they are now processed at the county voter registration office, which by the way is 100% staffed by one party.

So now, I as Judge of Election for MY district, have to certify the count at the end of the day for mail-in ballots which I have neither seen nor could I even verify the signatures matched the ones in the poll book. I simply have to trust that the county office gave me an accurate count...

All that to say that you can believe what you want to believe, but real life experience has shown me that the changes to our system have made it possible to be MORE corrupt, not less.

I love it when people not involved in Washington politics make accusations about Washington politics.

Prove it.

Washington State has been voting by mail for a LONG time now.  If someone can present some evidence showing that it's filled with fraudulent voting or corruption, I'm all ears.

Did you actually read my post?

I did prove it is now possible for the system to be MORE corrupt on the local level, which is where the ballots are actually counted, NO MATTER WHICH STATE YOU LIVE IN.

Or you can remain willfully ignorant.
