They couldn't just transfer the billions of dollars in donations, it would have had to go back to donors, this was a lateral move with the money.

Also it would have looked bad for the dems to leapfrog a DEI candidate for another white dude.

If Biden had announced he wasn't running early, the Dems would have likely found somebody else to run. But the way it shook out, Harris was the easiest pick. And it's hardly a punt. The polls show a very close race, likely because Trump is such a poor candidate rather than she's a great candidate but regardless, hardly a punt.

Harris chose Walz. He's not a great debater but is a likeable enough guy unless you're a Trumper. And as far as being disliked by many, he was sitting across the room from fkn JD Vance! Talk about a guy who is disliked by many!

The TDS folks always shy away from that exact quote for good reason.

I have two family members WHO WERE THERE, and they did not perceive anything he said as a call for violence, either directly or indirectly.

What I DO have a problem with is that many of the J6 protesters were held for more that 2 years without being tried in court, were kept in more deplorable conditions than the real terrorists at Gitmo, and for an alleged insurrection, ZERO people were actually charged with insurrection.

Our Constitutional rights are worthless if they don't apply equally to everyone, and it's even worse when they are withheld as punishment for political dissent.

I guess the term 'mostly peaceful protest' only applies to BLM and ANTIFA as they burned the city of Milwaukee while their Governor Walz sat there with his thumb up his ass, then finally activated the National Guard two days too late.
