That was my whole point, Del. Technically, I'm both.  If you put me on a sliding scale, I'd say I'm just left of center.    I'd post a video that explains it a LOT better than I can but I won't bore you with it. I've watched a lot of debates on the subject.

What grinds me is the BS that the Pope can spout when politics enters the stage.
But....for those with short memories or ones that haven't been paying attention, 3x obelisks.

I agree. It did wonders for my Sister. I don't know where she would be today if it hadn't been for the support from her church.  She's *very* poor and the church makes sure that her property is taken care of and they help with things around her house.  They built her a new deck a few years back. Her deck was rotted through and was dangerous to walk on.

Her husband died of cirrhosis (drank himself to death) about 8 years back so that support from the church has been her life line.

She won't talk to me anymore. She feels like I turned my back on my family, which I did for obvious reasons.  She feels that if I "found religion" I'd be able to forgive those pieces of shit. I can't say that I would.  lol.

I'm not sure why he drank the way that he did. My sister isn't a drinker.  He treated her pretty well so at least there was that? His family still see's her as their own. She moved to Montana because of her husband and stayed there for the church and his family.

I believe that she moved my mother in with her in the last year or so. She (mother) can't care for herself anymore. As much as I hate that cunt (yea, I said it) I used to send her care packages from Costco a couple of times a year so she didn't starve to death.   

I never asked if she talked to her husband about her past. That's a pretty heavy load to drop on someone and some people, believe it or not, judge you for things like that as if they are your fault. I don't really know how she's dealt with that over the years.  I do know that she's had three children with all different fathers and the cycle continued with one of her own daughters.  She was pretty devastated by it.

I don't talk to any of her kids either.  Occasionally they'll try to reach out to me but I stay away from that family mostly for my own sanity.

I didn't tell that story for sympathy, but more so Del could understand why I lost faith that something better than us is out there.
