There are still votes to be counted, but Trump currently has 3 million less votes than 2020. Harris currently has 20 million less than Biden.

Then you look at the total votes by state, Penn, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Mn and Arizona have pretty much the same vote count as in 2020. The vote just went Trumps way in those elections, but it doesn't appear that a bunch of people voted for Biden in those states that didn't vote in this election. it simply looks like people changed their votes to Trump.

But I still don't know where she lost 20 million votes from.

Quote from: Bucky Cornstarch on November 06, 2024, 05:51 AMFirst, congratulations. Voter turnout matters. As of a few minutes ago, Trump was at 71 million votes and Harris, 66 million. Last I checked, the US population was 335 million, with 262 million of voting age. That means Trump has the support of 27% of voting aged Americans, which is better than Harris' 25%.  Not quite the majority that you think it is, unless your math is different than what the rest of us use.

Either way, using the metrics we have available, it's more support than Harris has.

I think that it's time to refresh your browser.

I was thinking the one good thing that might come from this election was Doug would quit his unhinged, crazy ass whining ranting about election fraud....but nope.

So according to your logic Biden didn't have the majority of the people's support either then, right?

As someone who leans Repub but has never liked Trump, it is my sincere hope that Dem Party leadership, their supporters in the media and pop culture, take this as an opportunity for some honest self reflection.

I do not like single party control at any level of .gov.

The Dems have the opportunity move back towards the center. To abandon policies and candidates that the overwhelming majority of Americans find crazy. To embrace merit and dismiss intersectionality points as their priority selection criteria.

Or, they can double down, as they did in 2016. They can bitterly cling to their belief that their losses are due to this being a fundamentally racist, misogynistic nation. They can continue to lecture and belittle vast swaths of the electorate. And, they can continue to lose.

The choice should be easy, but I doubt it will be.

A friend, who is a Dem, showed me this earlier this morning.

He only half jokingly said, maybe we did cheat in 2020.

It is really hard to believe 15-20 million Dems just stayed home this time.
