I don't know what Smit meant. He'd have to say that for himself.

I didn't read it that way but then I'm not a Trump guy.  I know that if someone told me that Kamala had the homosexual vote sewn up and I was a Kamala supporter I wouldn't think that they were implying that I was a homosexual.

Maybe I'm the one reading it wrong? :D
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Quote from: Smit on November 06, 2024, 12:39 PMIt's pretty clear Trump has the primitive, crude, rude, white supremacist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic, etc people wrapped up. Those people are his base.

base implies majority to most people.

Quote from: Jim at Gentex on November 07, 2024, 08:08 AMSo even though the buzzword 'convicted felon' was a nice little touch, being an actual convicted felon, real or otherwise, is NOT a Constitutional disqualification to be POTUS.

Lol. I doubt there was any such thing as a "felon" when the constitution was written. Perhaps a different name for the most serious moral offenses?

Regardless, I doubt the founding fathers would have thought very highly of a person who qualified for the label "felon or equivalent."

Maybe so, but there are still ONLY two actual Constitutional qualifications, that's a fact.

Apparently this time around the American people saw through the politically motivated 'convictions' and still voted for Trump.

btw, WHEN those bullshit felony convictions get overturned on appeal, Trump will NOT be a convicted felon anyway, but you can still hate him just the same.  :harhar:

QuoteDonald Trump controversially observed that he could shoot an individual on a widely trafficked New York City street and not "lose one voter."

I don't believe this is true. I'd like to think he would have lost a few voters if he had done that.

But the ones he didn't lose would be his base.

And to be clear, if he shot somebody in the middle of 5th avenue I don't think he'd be president.

Jeff

Dumbsmit doesn't even know that constitutional amendments are a thing and the reason we have them.

If Kamala Harris were a convicted felon and Trump had a clean record. You would still vote for her over Trump simply because Trump is republican and she is democrat. Especially if her convictions came about immediately before the election in a state like Florida or Texas.

Of course not. I would have voted for her because Trump is a horrible human. I can't believe that's not clear.

Here are examples of people who may very well be his base. To be clear, not all of them are and not all who aren't there are not in his base. For reference only.

For further clarity I will say that not all of Trumps base have any or all of the traits I mentioned earlier. It's not always black and white. Some people will never understand that.

And for the purpose of my OP I got the feedback from the very few people here who might have been undecided that they were just not comfortable voting for Harris. For a variety of reasons.

Pretty simple really.

Thanks for the replies, this thread can go away now. :)

Cherry picking a small group of people to drive his narrative.
OH NO! There are terrible people who support Trump! The horror! Our lives are ruined!

Just like everyone who supports Kumbucket is no angel. Remind us again how many Kamala voters tried to assassinate Trump? How many liberals shoot up schools? Just ask Tampax Tim, he's friends with them as he said in the debate.
