It makes it obvious that Trump will indeed be Commander in Chief

"Experience" is overrated. :coffee:

He's a Major so he knows enough about the machine and he's held some leadership positions along the way. He does have 2 Bronze Stars. I don't think they just give those away.

Ideally I would have liked to see a bird Colonel but, no doubt he's seen some turds get promoted and this may be a way to start cleaning that filthy house.

To be fair I really don't know the specifics of his military service. I'm familiar with him and like him. I'm sure we will learn more about his leadership skills.

I also know very little.

I listened to a PodCast a couple/few years ago where he was mentioned (not in a negative way) which was where I heard about the Bronze Stars.

We shall indeed see.

He's on his 3rd marriage. That's worth another Bronze Star.

For those who'd say a major is too low on the totem pole to be SecDef, what is the record of our generals in serious conflicts since WWII?

By my count they are 0-3.

Generals who failed to succeed used to get fired. Now they get promoted. The rank has went from a merit based thing to a political one.

If he hasn't worked for Lockheed or hired based on DEI, is he actually qualified?

He's pretty smart with degrees from Princeton and Harvard.

Pete Hegseth has been a regular contributor on Fox News for quite some time.
His patriotism and loyalty to our country is beyond question, so that's a good start.

82nd Airborne, two tours in the sandbox, and as James mentioned, two Bronze Stars means he has been there and done that, also a plus, and the fact that he retired at the rank of Major tells us he never had to kiss anyone's ass to make General, another plus.

I think he will do a tremendous job as SecDef.

This right here...most simply do not understand the machinations that take place to actually make "General"

Climbing through the ranks, whether E? or O? up to a certain level by & large is an "earned" process. Above that though, it really is much about ass kissing and friends in the right places.
