New Website/New Name

CGTech is no more

Now that Vericut and Mastercam are kissing cousins, owned by Sandvik, I have questions.

Cad Cam Consulting sells and services  Vericut

Who do you buy it from?
Who provides support.

I had an issue with the Vericut V9.5 on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks back and emailed CGtech support.
When I got to work at 5AM  Monday morning, I had an email waiting from a CGtech support agent
which solved the problem.

You can't beat service like that... and I sure hope the rebranding doesn't mess up the outstanding support
we are used to with CGtech.

One of our young afp programmers just went to work for them as tech support. He had maybe 5 years AFP experience.
The composite programming software is notoriously buggy since they rewrote the entire software from FORTRAN to Python.
I contacted them about an issue with the latest revision and he was the one who responded. Was kinda weird.

I posted up about the rebrand back a week or two or three ago:

AFAIK, Vericut/CGTech are operating as per normal, and that has always been the intention. Sandvik were very much part of the development of Force, as the Force material data all stems from trials run in conjunction with Vericut and Sandvik.

I agree, their support and service has always been top notch. In fact, I have told the product manager, along with the applications people I have dealt with, and including the original owner, that Vericuts tech support is the gauge I use to rate all other software support.

If you have ever had the pleasure of dealing with their Okuma specialist, you'll know what I mean.

I actually got an email this week stating that the branding has changed but the official company name is still CG Tech.

"It has come to our attention that our recent rebranding to Vericut has caused some confusion with our customers over our legal company name.

Our legal company name remains CGTech and that is not changing. All PO's, payments, etc. still should be addressed and made out to CGTech.

We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Please contact your Sales Engineer with any questions.

Thank you for continued business.

Best regards,
CGTech"

I got this email as well... but then I found that my Mastercam dealer sells and services Vericut.
Do they just sell/service new customers, do they hand them off to Vericut for a small piece of the pie?
We renewed maintenance last month and it was just as it's always been, though CGTech\Vericut
