I remember when the opened the Fry's in Anaheim in the mid 90's
That was a cool store. As far as computer stuff went, if they didn't have it at Fry's
it probably didn't exist.
The Fry's in Las Vegas was an amazing place... so big it had it's own freeway exit
After I moved to the Inland Empire, the nearest Fry's was a 20 mile drive
and I didn't go as often.
Every time I did go it looked a little more empty and shabby.
They shut them all down this week

It was a west coast chain of electronics stores like Best Buy on steroids.
They were huge stores, 31 all together on the west coast and Texas
Each had it's own theme. Mayan temple, Egyptian pyramids, the space shuttle  etc etc
They were really good stores for anything computer, stereo, or TV related.
The store I went to in Anaheim had 120 cash registers and even that wasn't enough
during the Christmas season. A dozen Best Buys would have fit in it with room to spare.
They have been going down hill for years and it looks like they've finally crashed and burned.

I would have thought it was a fast food joint, It's a shame to see so many businesses go under...

Bricks and mortar are so 2010.

Pretty soon you will have to order 2x4s on Amazon.

But if you kill Fry he can't go back in time and push himself into the cryo tube!

Even 5 years ago when I moved to san diego Frys seemed pretty cool - could still get a lot of stuff for electronics projects that other stores had long abandoned. But man, I haven't seen a place get so dilapidated so quickly. It was like radioshack on steroids in how crappy it got. eventually just a huge building with absolutely nothing and employees just shrugging.
