All I ever said in the defense of Gaetz was that he was investigated by the DoJ and NO charges were filed, which is factual.

I also postulated that his political enemies had plenty of reason to try to derail his nomination, which is merely speculation, but it makes sense, and is certainly par for the course in D.C. politics.

I have a bit more knowledge about Pete Hegseth because he was a Fox News contributor who was a public figure but not a politician.
He always struck me as a decent guy, and a patriotic American through and through.

Yeah I understand your point but has Pete ever been in charge of the chain of command of anything ? From what I have read, the DOD has many facets of operations. It's the same reason I prefer a Governor or businessman to e President over a Senator.

He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, so he likely had Company or Battalion level command experience.
No matter the size of the unit, the principles are the same.

Lol. No, Beej, the people I vote for are all Angels and not politicians so they never do anything wrong.

But seriously, I think Republicans go for the low road more often than Democrats do, and are more likely to just flat out make shit up to further their goals than the Dems are.

And it's not necessarily the Republican politicians but their supporters who go for that low road. The politicians just keep quiet (at best) and wink.

If you have something the Dems have done that you consider as low as Swift Boating please post it.
