How many of you place bets on sports. So many places now to do so. Personally my nerves couldn't take it.

There's bound to be many losing their ass. I stink at gambling and that's a good thing to know.

I used to back in my early 20's, my buddy was a bookie middle-man.
I lost a LOT of money (a lot for me at the time) betting on college football back then.
But the one team that used to ALWAYS cover the spread was East Carolina.
Bama NEVER covered, and that's how I lost a lot of money lol.
Fuck Bama.

Kentucky basketball rarely covered the last several years. It's amazing though how close Vegas picks the spread and over/under.

I'm in a weekly pick the winner football pool. $3 a week. Did that count? :)

We have a horse track here. I go couple times a year. There's also a casino. I never go to that. Noise drives me crazy.

I've never been a gambler
I don't bet on sports and haven't been to Vegas in 30 years.
I used to buy lotto tickets when I stopped at 7-11 for cigarettes
but haven't done that since I quit smoking in 1988.
I can see how the all the new online websites and phone apps for sports betting
could lead to a very destructive addiction.
I used to know an excellent gantry mill machinist who died broke, alone and homeless
due to various addictions including gambling.

Yeah I worked with a guy who was a reformed alcoholic. He started going to the gambling boat. Started drinking again and lost everything he had and died after just a few years.

I play in a weekly football pool also. I might as well do my picks by going "ennie meanie miney mo" though.
I have placed bets on politics, I do better on reading people's opinions than I do picking teams in sports.

The most I will do on a sports bet anymore is pick a few teams at one of those automated machines if I happen to be in a casino. Me being in a casino is exceedingly rare however...so sot sure if that counts.

I'm not sure why, but I would rather lose $30 of fishing tackle in a stream than to lose $10 gambling.

In the stock market there are 'market makers' who, for one thing, set options premiums....and move massive capitol to make sure they land in a favorable way.
Can't say they are less criminal then your average leg breaking bookie.

On a 50/50 shot, I'm wrong 9 out of 10 times. 😝
