We've done some things to keep the traffic down a little.    No attachments.  Left the defaults for avatar size (sorry guys)

We're not hosted on a dedicated server either so you may notice a slow down once in a while.   Hopefully not too bad.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

From being on the other side I can say that eMastercam barely mattered - definitely still a useful tool but didn't contribute to the bottom line and was a distraction.  After Dave left the people who cared about it were the people that posted. Me, Tyler Yanta, Daniel and to a lesser extent Chris Lang.   Glenn liked to rant on it, not sure how much helping he does (%100 more than I do mind you), which is a shame because he's probably the best machining support person anywhere going, except for Alan Brown.

Are you sure?

That forum was responsible for helping a lot of people.  Regardless of how we feel about it right now. I relied on it when I first started learning the software.

Ron, Colin, JP, (forgive me for not listing people) make it relevant?

The info on Emastercam was a monster benefit for me with the post I created for our horizontals and that is very appreciated. That site is belongs to IHS and they stated that the Off Topic was a negative to them. It's hard for me to understand that but it is what it is and life goes on.

Thank you neurosis for your investment into this forum and with the short time it's been running it appears that your investment will pay off for the current and future members.

Definitely not sure - might have helped a lot of people, but I'm not sure it  helped to drive much revenue. An argument could be made for retention etc. but the vast majority of mastercam customers don't use any kind of forum.

The above statement has been fact checked by independent fact checkers and determined to be false.

Yea, it did.

I paid for three years up front so were good for at least those three years.

After that, we may need to figure something out.  LOL.    I told babybyte that if he wanted,  I would turn everything over to him after that time was up. I'm not sure that he knows what he's getting himself in to.

We have three years to figure it out.

I'd pay some money to hang out with most of you guys. I mean, this is more or less like a virtual tavern. Joined eMC as member 58 or 53... can't remember exactly. Anyway. Definitely one of the OG's. The reason I stayed (minus a short 2 year stint) was because nearly all my friends were there. Every once in a while one would fall by the way side for one reason or another, but the core guys remained minus Matt (a.k.a. Rekd).

So I'll kick down to keep it going. I'll just take it out of my substantial ammo budget. :p

Part of the problem may be that they are sending students to the site for access to their training material.  Some of the Off Topic stuff may cross the line for some school boards if they got pocking around.  I know as a customer of theirs they give us free access to all of the training material on the site so maybe they do it for schools as well.
