Del.

It's no wonder why insurance rates are getting so high.

C'mon man! If you're going to give credit, at least call out the arsonists!

And the gov't for not doing proper forestry management.

But.... climate change. Yeah that's the real threat.
What happened to global warming? Climate Change has a better ring to it so that the weak minded buy into it.
Odd though, with the billions or trillions that have been "donated" to fight climate change....how's that battle going?

Ah yes, as Trump says, they should have cleaned their forests. :)

Stay safe everyone.

Santa Anna winds can happen anytime of year, but are most common between September and May.

Aging, above ground, electrical infrastructure and high winds don't mix. :coffee:

Maybe fixing that should be a higher priority than their high speed rail to nowhere and ensuring DEI hires in their fire departments.

Excuse me for being an ignorant flat lander but is it possible, or beneficial, to have controlled burns to clear out the dead under growth?

I know they do that out here on the prairie (we still get wildfires, though) but I have no idea how that would work where there are these legendary plant things called "trees".

Not according to dumbsmit.
And Bucky thinks it's climate change causing the fires.

Supposedly insurance companies dropped coverage not too long ago on a lot of these houses.

Read my post, dipshit. I said changing climate. I never said why the climate was changing, so go to hell with whatever Nutcon talking point you've unknowingly digested and are about to regurgitate.

To deny that the climate is changing is asinine and ignorant. Or, about par for the course for a typical Trump voter.

@neurosis can you create a safe space for Bucky and Smitty. I think, they both need a cuddle....

Insurance companies have been declining to renew policies for the better part of 10 years now. Between Edison, PG&E, and SDG&E's failure to maintain infrastructure and the state's EPIC forest management "strategies", it is no longer viable for them to do business in the state.

Common sense which is COMPLETELY uncommon in The People's Republik of Kommieforniastan dictates "Insurance" can only work when risk can be mitigated. When the state prohibits tried and true forest management policies and the regulatory environment is such that the things that need to be done can no longer be done, companies have no choice but to GTFO that shithole.
