Reverse psychology is a technique involving the assertion of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what is actually desired. This technique relies on the psychological phenomenon of reactance, in which a person has a negative emotional reaction to being persuaded, and thus chooses the option which is being advocated against.[1] This may work especially well on a person who is resistant by nature, while direct requests work best for people who are compliant.[2] The one being manipulated is usually unaware of what is really going on.[3]

He may not be being blamed for this one but all future catastrophes are going to be his fault.

Why don't the dems make it rain on LA like they did on North Carolina?  And yes, Incogs donation helped build the wall.

Quote from: beej on January 14, 2025, 12:30 PMyes, of course that was the problem then. But LA at the time was complaining about how much water the pistachio farmers were using, that was taking away from their water supply.

I think I found a documentary that talks about this. I'm not exactly sure how this ties in to the water that feeds LA. I'll keep reading in to it.  I'd like to see this documentary if I can find a free streaming version of it.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I saw a video the other day about how the couple that owns the  Wonderful corporation pays to have legal rights to water for all of their crops and they sell it.

It's from 2 years ago.

The documentary is about that same couple and how they've paid off politicians to gain control of too much of Californias water supply.

I might have to just concede my naivety on this. It is probably a lot more complicated than I understand. In our area, there is so much water that nobody fights over it. Fighting over water is foreign to me. I haven't watched that video, but if I understand you, it seems like it is just piling coals on Democrats heads for not only mismanagement but for also being on the take.

Does California have any redeeming qualities?

I didn't realize how complicated it was until you brought up the pistachio farmers and I looked it up. I don't follow Cali politics too closely. Most of it, I see on this forum.

The weather. There's some natural beauty outside of the cities. It's one of the few, and possibly the only state that could be completely self reliant, meaning there is enough farmland to sustain the state and it's inhabitants. There could be enough energy to power the state. There are enough mineral deposits to to mine to sustain the state. There is a large enough manufacturing base to build anything necessary fkr civilization to thrive.

ALL of those things are predicated on politicians NOT fucking it up. And over the course of the last 25+ years, they have show they are completely incapable of NOT fucking it up. Top to bottom the place is now a 3rd World shit show run by Bannana Republic wannabes.

It's near the bottom in education. It's near the top in expense to live there. It's near the bottom when it comes to exercising constitutional rights. It's a 1 party state top to bottom in ALL 3 branches. Public Sector Employee Unions literally run the state.

I could gonon but this should be sufficient to garner at least one 🤪
