I've been running 32g of ram in this PC since I bought it about 15 months ago
Typically the task manager would show about 20g of ram in use.
I've been crunching some big toolpaths lately so I added another 64g yesterday
Now I've got a total of 96g.... and the task manager is showing 10g in use
My question is WTF ???

Is the computer capable of 96gb?
Are they the same speed RAM? The computer will work at the speed of the slowest chip. Look for the Hz rating for both.

Yes the motherboard can handle up to 128g
It shipped with two 16g sticks
I added two 32gig sticks, same brand, same speed.

The new ram is recognized by the BIOS.

I just find it strange that when I had 32g the PC routinely used 20
Now I have 96g and it's using 10

I believe everything is running properly
Here is a screen shot of the Task Manager while running Verify on a
Ø58.25" impeller

Ram usage go up to 18.3 gig at the end of the session during the Enhancing Model routine

Is this Windows 10? Apparently there are similar reports of the computer not utilizing everything.

A few things to check

You could try disabling menory compression

The admin would have to do it in powershell I suppose

Did you put the new sticks in the correct location?

The machine has 4 RAM slots  shipped with two 16 gig sticks
I installed the two new 32g sticks in the empty slots.
The BIOS sees 96g, the Task Manager sees 96g and Crucial's memory scanning
app sees 96g, but it sure doesn't look like it's getting used.
I think I will pull all the ram and put the 32g sticks in the primary slots
and the 16g in the remaining slots

Re-reading this I didn't notice that you're mixing Ram sizes.
Try just the 32GB sticks by themselves.

Also your ram speed is 2667, can you overclock it in the BIOS? What's the max speed of ram your motherboard is rated for? Speed will make a difference.

I was thinking about that too
Thought I'd run with just the two 32d sticks and see if memory usage went up

Looks like RAM doesn't make a huge difference and cheaper video cards work for this test, CPU speed seems to rule. Looking forward to the second part of the test.
