How bad is that gonna be for your wife?

That's gonna be a REAL problem for those people that moved to different states. Gotta take a last minute flight make last minute arrangements to stay in a hotel.

I'll bet DC is gonna be a shit show tomorrow. 😆😅🤣😂
Son in law just got a data science type job with the IRS working remote out of California. This is really gonna cement their democrat credentials

Ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens is a reasonable measure that will be instantly tied up in court if not immediately thrown out. Can't modify the constitution by EO, but it's good to start that fight and maybe get a SCOTUS ruling for once

From what he said, he's not trying to modify the constitutional amendment, but argue the phrase "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof".  His argument is that since babies born in the USA from Illegal parent(s) are not subject to the jurisdiction. If that's the case, then they are not granted citizenship. I read that the lawsuits have already been filed against this.  So, it'll likely be a juggling match of lawyers for a while to come.

Meh...
If you're in engineering, mgmt, scheduling, integration, or test - I agree with you.

My wife's role certainly doesn't require being on site, but I'm not the boss

I think it DEFINITELY bears taking it to SCOTUS.

The argument has never been made before the court that people who broke the law for the sole purpose of obtaining citizenship should/should not be granted said citizenship.

I could argue both sides. Both sides have merit. The letter of the law is with one side. The spirit of the law is with the other.

Should be interesting to say the least.

First, implementing immediate change through Executive Orders is the new normal established by BOTH PARTIES, so that is a cold, hard reality that is not likely to change.

Having said that, yes, if Congress would get off their collective asses, (again, BOTH PARTIES are equally culpable) the incoming President would not need to implement nearly as many Executive Orders.
But again, this is reality.

The current Republican Congress can and hopefully will codify at least some of these Executive Orders into law, at least that's the plan going forward, so we'll have to wait and see if that happens.  We all know there are powerful special interests on BOTH SIDES that will try to derail any real change, but at least they will show themselves in the form of Representatives and Senators who are most resistant to changing the status quo.
They can be dealt with by the people at the ballot box, which is how our system is supposed to work.

Lastly, at least some of the current Executive Orders are not open ended but have built in time limits.
The DOGE one in particular says this...

QuoteThe U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization shall be headed by the USDS Administrator and shall be dedicated to advancing the President's 18-month DOGE agenda.  The U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization shall terminate on July 4, 2026.

I haven't read through all of them, but this one is at least encouraging enough to mention.
If the first 18 months show it is worth having, Congress can make it official by making it permanent.

Supposedly they aren't releasing all of the J6'ers at once that were supposed to be released?
Anyone know what's happening with that?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I'm sure it takes time to process everything and if there were dozens at one prison then that may take a couple days to get everyone out.

However I heard US Marshalls apparently had to step in at the DC Prison, not sure what exactly happened.

'Murrica. :)

Now that that's done we can focus on shoving the people who aren't "normal" back into the closet.

I noticed you were quiet about Biden pardoning the scum in Gitmo and released them back into the wild.

Okay? Was he being held for anything else besides J6?

Del.

I don't like the EO on ending birth right citizenship. The 14th amendment is clear, and I don't think there's a chance in hell it gets changed.
