Before Biden, Carter was quite often referred to as the worst American president, ever. Biden gave him a run for the money and quite possibly beat him to that title. Carters time left such a foul taste to voters that we had 12 years, three successive terms of R presidents after he left. It's going to be hard for the Dems to beat Vance in 2028. We saw two different Americas under Trump and under Biden. in 2024 the voters resoundingly chose more Trump/MAGA over more Biden/Harris. Unless the moderates of the Dem party oust the progressives and regain control of the party, they will have trouble winning nationally for a while.
