I dunno, the entire Tide Pods era may have proved you wrong lol

So the only real difference between the silk road and today's social media is the difficulty in getting to it and Anonymity?

The real difference is that the silk road was created specifically for illegal activity. I haven't read the TOS of The Silk Road, but I'm guessing it doesn't include most of the limitations you would find on todays Social Media.  If you were caught selling drugs on Facebook, your account would be banned.

I would like to look this up when I have time. If it's true, and provable, then the sentence starts to make more sense.

""Make no mistake: Ulbricht was a drug dealer and criminal profiteer who exploited people's addictions and contributed to the deaths of at least six young people," said Preet Bharara, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York said at the time of his incarceration."

I know that at least one story is true.  The kid who took LSD purchased from The Silk Road and fell off of a balcony and died.

It was created specifically for anonymous activity.

Should the inventor of Bitcoin be locked up for creating an anonymous payment system that some use for criminal activities?

Or, and hear me out here, it sounds like rational thinking from a reasonable person who doesn't have an agenda driven opinion on the subject?

Wonder if Neuro is ok with a pardon for such a disproportionate sentence?

The Silk Road was created specifically for selling illegal drugs anonymously. There is a reason they went through so much trouble to hide it.

I've already said several times that I'm not OK pardons at all and would only be OK under very limited circumstances. Like say, someone was sentenced under 20 year old sentencing guidelines and today's guidelines were less strict. I don't have heart ache over some of the pardons but some are just ridiculous. And before you ask, yes, I think Hunter Bidens pardon falls in to the ridiculous category.

Well if it is just my opinion, it's based on evidence. What is yours based on?
