I closed the sale of my socal house in September.(And gtfo) Same neck of the tumbleweeds as gcode and CNC appsguy
It almost fell through for a couple reasons, one of which was 5,000-6000 dollar yearly insurance premium quotes. They ended up getting something in the 2500 range if memory serves.
 Escaped just in time.

The people that bought my house welcomed a $17,762.50 annual property tax bill into their lives. 😬

I can't even begin to imagine what the insurance is.

That's gonna be a hard NO!

Here's another little tidbit nobody in LA wants to talk about; there were MORE fire stations in Los Angeles City in the 1960's than there are today. Think about that for a moment; the population of Los Angeles in 1970 was 2,816,061. In 2020 it was 3,898,747. I used 1970 and 2020 because those are the latest census numbers. In 2024 the estimate is ~ 4,125,000.

Leftists doing leftist things... and blaming Republicans for it.

How about a Hawaii update

i was there a month before the fire and then returned for thanksgiving.  honestly it was really hard to tell where the fire was until we out in the ocean looking back.  a few random houses were perfectly fine.

since the fire they bull dozed every lot that had damage so you couldn't even tell there was ever a structure there.  we drove back thru and then i was able to realize how badly the area was affected.

Talked to a few locals who are rebuilding and they did not receive much federal help at all.  some sold there property and new construction has already begun.  others have a trailer or camper parked on the lot.

if you look back up on the hill side, they have about 200-300 temporary housing units all shoved together.  that's where most of the affected people are now living.

And why is the Deputy Mayor of LA also involved with bombs?

Should be an interesting case to watch.

I never got/understood fake bomb threats by adults.

I mean did he forget his homework or run out of sick days?
