That is a fair and reasonable position.
Too bad there is so much fear-mongering in the media that is making everyone think Trump wants to send Grandma back to Mexico or South America next week.

He said very clearly that the PRIORITY is to identify and deport the criminal element within the illegal immigrant population FIRST.
That alone could take several years.

Having said that, at some point there MAY be further deportations, but realistically just getting the worst offenders rounded up and shipped out will be a win for the country.

I agree. Too many people will be living in fear of being deported with their children. My personal view is get the bad ones out and make a path for citizenship to at least those who have been here for years.

We all know of a brother, who is a fantastic guy. He'll never be able to be legalised.
But he contributes to the economy, pays his taxes, motor insurance, etc etc....

IMO they would probably not even be on the list for deportation since their dad came here legally, and then completed his citizenship.

I see that as a very slippery slope. It's fair to say its not uncommon to have many illegal aliens living in the same house. Lets say 10 are there for example. And in this example, 2 of them do criminal shit besides being in the US illegally. Now the house gets raided. How are the DHS agents going to decide which 2 are the criminals? All will get arrested.

If you did something illegal (entering the country illegally) and you get caught up in a sweep of other illegal immigrants who also committed additional violent crimes once they got here, that's on you.
