Exactly...common sense prevents us from jumping to that conclusion.

But here is the thing. The reason I made that conclusion was my mind didn't immediately jump to Trump is an idiot or Trump is a liar.

Because for one, there were pumps, that could be turned on, and somebody, even if it wasn't trump, turned them on. And in another conversation, he's talking about a valve that doesn't exist. That tells me that he is thinking about building a some kind of structure that would get water from the Columbia river to California. And I'm only assuming the Columbia river because he said that some of the water comes from Canada.

But here is the thing. The reason I made that conclusion was my mind didn't immediately jump to Trump is an idiot or Trump is a liar. My mind went to Trump is a builder. Also my mind goes to the fact that Trump has vision. So maybe you are right he is a liar and maybe I'm right he has a vision. I've worked for guys like him that are always wanting to create something, they have a vision for something and they lay out that vision and leave it to type A personalities to figure it out. Admittedly, sometimes those dreams are fruitless, impossible, or cost too much.

This may be one of those times. this probably ranks right up there with Buying Greenland, getting the Panama Canal back etc.  I don't fault him for thinking big. I wish the rest of us didn't think so small.

Beej is one of (there are a few) the more reasonable people on the forum when it comes to having these discussions. Even if I think he might be wrong about something, he can make me think about my position, maybe even change it occasionally.  I respect that.

No. When referring to the Democratic Party, which is a formal name, it is grammatically correct to use Democratic. A member of that party is a Democrat.

I don't give a shit either way, but just be aware that using the term "democrat party" is a subtle way of letting people know that you are susceptible to repeating propaganda, and usually unknowingly. Both sides fall victim to this BTW.
