I doubt he has the security clearance to access the "innermost workings" of the D.O.D. That list is probably a very short one.
It's not like he's getting access to launch codes.

Quote from: MIL-TFP-41 on February 04, 2025, 07:24 AMYou don't mind a guy who has 10's or 100's of billions in .gov contracts all of the sudden having access to the innermost workings of who he is getting the contracts from? Vetted or not, that raises some huge ethical flags.

The problem with an appointed official vs an elected one have access to this information is at least people chose the elected official.

Unelected bureaucrats have had access to the innermost workings of government for decades, so that's nothing new.

What is new is that this particular unelected bureaucrat probably has more skin in the game than many small countries, and he is looking for waste and fraud abuses that affect the spending of his own tax dollars as well as yours and mine.

1. Catholic Relief Services: $4.6 billion (nonprofit)

this was used to fund the flood of immigrants coming over the border
it paid for the camps in Panama, the fleets of buses, and all the other expenses involved
a whole lot of it was slipped back the Dem party as campaign donations and
payroll for well connected people who did nothing but cash the paychecks

The Red Cross also got huge sums for the same services

It paid for all of them to have brand new phones so they could access the app that bypasses the border checkpoints.
The number of people that still think there weren't 2 apps that did this is mindboggling.

Not a word about Congressional oversight for all of that money, because there is none.
Take a look at the top 10 list of recipients of these billions of dollars:

Hmmmmmm...Catholic Relief Services at #1...

Where are the 'church-and-state' folks on this issue?  :headscratch:
Sounds to me like a crapton of money going DIRECTLY to a religious organization.

I guess they are selective with their outrage.

Catholic relief services is a pretty efficient way to get the money where it needs to be. 94% of their incoming money goes directly to the people they serve in a lot of the poorest nations regardless of creed. And I'm willing to bet that a lot of people here would be more satisfied with how they would use the money rather than, say, the Gates Foundation, or something like that.

But all of that said, the US is running a federal deficit that is going to crash us, eventually. Spending has to be cut. And if people are balking at federal spending on foreign charity, then how in the world would we ever reduce spending from domestic programs?!

He's just parroting the rhetoric that the left fearmongered into their skulls over and over that Trump will never leave office once he gets in.
Quite possibly one of the dumbest things the ignorant left has said and people believe it.

If by "parroting" you mean giving the Trumptards here a giant ass worm to gobble, then yes. Congrats on getting the hook stuck in your gills.

My wife is Catholic. I go to church with her. Can you get ahold of the Pope to have him update the hymnal to update the songs beyond the 19th century? 😝

You give yourself way too much credit.
It was blatantly obvious what you were doing.

I remember when I said that I was worried about Trump coming in to office with a vendetta and seeking revenge against those who wronged him and you told me that I was just parroting left wing talking points.

Then let's take it a step further: Remind us again what happens when Trump loses an election.
