Not much I can do about it, just frustrated that I can't load more than 62KB into this machine. Having to keep an old school and HSM program for each part is getting old, especially when revs show up. I want to lay down optiruff + dynamic contours and move on with my life... Alas, here I am, massaging a pocket 2D shaving off a few hundred characters where the good lord Satan allows.

Thats's all for today.

Do you have the filters doing as much as they can to shorten the code?

Filter your code too hard and some of these old dogs get tired of working and head for home as fast as they can run.

I've convinced management to semi retire it.
My ultimate goal for it is to make it an artificial reef.

We had an old Fanuc mill maybe 118kb we ran a RS232 cord to the computer (with adaptor)

and ran drip feed from Cimco V5.

Just be sure to clear the buffer each time and put to single block before you send it.

Unlimited memory. ;D

I'd like to get some laptops or something around here to drip feed, we only have 2 pcs that can send programs, and only 1 can do lathe stuff. So a little hampered from time to time.

I'd prefer an overhaul, lol, get some VX1000s in here and a pair of MX520s with pallets. Then we can retire the horizontal and the overowrked DMU50. A boy can dream.

Yea if you got drip feed working it would put off buying new. ;D

Yup.
Drip feed via RS-232 cable w/ Cimco DNC Max was standard procedure for us with our old Fadal VMC 4020's with A/B table attachments.

I have run 8-10 hour overnight toolpaths many times.
Easy-peasy.
