I saw yesterday, that one of those guys is the dude who de-coded the scrolls from Mt.Vesuvius a while back.

I still don't know anything about them other than Wired released a list of their names and photo's.

I would expect that they would want this list (usaid) to be public?

I'm guessing they have security details by now.
They are brilliant young men. I hope they knew what they were getting into.
I've found that many brilliant people are totally stupid about some things.
I have to respect them though.
Trump said he was going to drain the swamp, and Musk and these young men are doing that.

I'm still a little baffled that you're hang up is, who these guys rather than the actual corruption they've already found. Am I wrong that you have identified as being fiscally conservative but socially liberal? Do you think that there are some people inside Washington, or maybe some people you have heard of, that would do a better job? Who is that? We've had promises for decades and decades from politicians who were going to root out the corruption. Nothing changes. I think that we have grown accustomed to non-innovation in Washington DC, we complain about it, we vote for change and then change scares us. Obama ought to be ought there leading the charge with "hope and change" when it comes to this team.

my brother-in-law is a principal at a special needs school in Illinois. He was telling me a while back how the district loves his ability to be able to get grants. He said it's really not that hard. You just have to word the paperwork in such a way that the money you want is going towards the goals you think they are already looking to fund. Which just seemed like common sense, until he kept going. If they are wanting to improve reading levels, you tell them you are using the money to increase reading levels. If they want DEI you tell them you are using it for DEI curriculum.

I said, don't they verify to see where that money is going? He said, nobody has verified anything yet. And the administrators don't seem to care as long as I keep getting the grants.

Personally, my thoughts are that those administrators don't ask, but he will be the face in the news story it ever goes public.

This is just one school district. Imagine what is going on this whole country. and when I see that money is going to train journalists in Bangledesh to use inclusive gender language, I can't help but think about that conversation. What is it really going to?
