Car insurance rates

We got our latest update for car insurance. I am just blown away at how they just keep raising rates. We have had two claims since 2020, no tickets. My wife found an old invoice and in 2022 for 6 drivers and 6 cars our insurance was $1900/6 mo. Our latest quote for 6 drivers and 7 cars is $5800/6 mo. That is insane. We got some other quotes and switching to progressive would save on car insurance but then we lose the AAA home ins discount we have for bundling. Anyone else seeing these crazy rate increases.

Inflation, home ins, med ins, auto ins, etc. is out of control and then at the same time we see how corrupt politicians and agencies are giving away our future to foreign counties and politicians pet NGO's. It is complete BS that all that money is going out of the country and working class people are just expected to suck it up.

Insurance for my 17 year old grandson was $500/month for liability only. Needless to say they can't afford that

Mine is $136/month full coverage on a 2024 Ram 1500 thru Progressive.

just had it out with state farm the other day they increased my 2 cars and renters' insurance only about $20 a month but still! I have had no claims ever, one speeding ticket which was on my bike ten plus years ago which was through another insurance company, I told them I should be getting a decrease not an increase. They said the same thing everyone else says cost of doing business now days. my rent goes up 7% yearly since covey the power bill same thing water bill same thing if not more, gas, groceries, health insurance through work keeps climbing too!

I keep remembering a looser dead-beat druggy that lives off the guv once told me I am a sucker . . .

We are seeing this is Cali too
There are many reasons for it.
Due to EPA fuel mileage mandates cars get lighter and more easily damaged every year.
Cars are also way more expensive, cost way more to repair and are more frequently written off as a total loss.

This is especially true of EV's. Minor crashes that damage battery packs
result in $100K+ cars being written off as total losses because
the auto repair industry does not know how to repair them.
and
as anyone who has owned a Tesla knows, the wait for parts can stretch out years.

and

here in Cali, the laws are written by lawyers to enrich lawyers, so they are always looking
for new ways to get their greedy fingers into deep pockets.

40% of wrecks in Cali involve uninsured drivers so uninsured driver premiums are way up
and
If an insured car and an uninsured car get in a wreck, the insured car can be held responsible
for all the damage and injuries for both cars and all passengers, regardless of fault.

We only have one vehicle now. 2024 Chevy Equinox RS. Full coverage is a little over $1,000 a year.

Last summer we bought my wife a 2022 Honda Pilot with only 15k miles on it. It was a rebuilt title, previous salvage title. We got a good deal on it. The car was basically new when it was crashed and the only reason it went to salvage versus being repaired for the owner was parts shortages. It took a year and a half for it to be repaired.

I figure it's good for a few more years.

If I really had to drive somewhere I would Rent. :)

It's a funny car . it has a handle you have to crank to get the window to go down.
