Quote from: Jeff on February 18, 2025, 06:37 AMLike those that scream "Trump is a threat to our Democracy" all the while completely ignoring the fact that Kamala was never voted in as the Democratic party presidential candidate?
Manufactured outrage at it's finest.

You're missing the point
they are screaming
"Trump is a threat to our Democracy" with an emphasis on "our"
It means their Democracy... which does not included Trump, Trump voters or anyone else who disagrees with them.
They don't really want democracy; they want a fascist state where only right think is allowed.

Quote from: Del. on February 18, 2025, 06:45 AMDemocrats and Republicans are so far apart in their beliefs

The funny thing is, a lot of the good things that the Democratic party wanted back in the 80's the Republican party is running on and doing now.
All they run on is Trump bad and abortion.

Obama originally came up with the idea of D.O.G.E. but he never followed thru with it.

Do you not understand that the whole point of my original post was to provide bait for you guys to have your little feeding frenzy with?

The correlation/causation thing was a valid point, though, considering the amount of completely untrue crap the average Trump voter threw around over the last four years. Do we need to list them again?

And project. Accuse the opposition of everything you're doing so the attention is diverted.

Clinton / Gore were talking about cutting the size of the federal government in 1993, and Clinton signed an EO.
They later passed the Federal Workforce Reduction Act in 1994, but we all know the fed continued to become far more bloated since then.

So, Clinton originally ordered a reduction of the government workforce by EO, followed by the bill in Congress a year later.

Trump has essentially done the same thing, at least the first part.
We will need to wait and see if Congress follows through.

neurosis

Clinton's EO allowed agencies to decide for themselves who was let go. He didn't have some unelected billionaire gut the agencies.

Obama or Clinton having the same priorities of reducing the size of government, it NOT the same as loving the idea of DOGE or what they're doing right now.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.
